Collection: Ingo Maurer

Original, inventive, provocative... Ingo Maurer has demonstrated for over 60 years that it can still redefine the preconceived notion of what is a lamp, and how one should interact with it on a daily basis.

Born in the early 60's and formerly named Design M, Ingo Maurer quickly became best known for the table lamp "Bulb", depicting a large glass diffusor with a chrome base reminiscent of the threads of an actual lightbulb. It graced Herman Miller's Munich showroom, gaining instant recognition and popularity.

Building on this early success, they were able to grow, move to a larger location and push the limits of what we can call a lamp. Creating hundreds of new lamps over the years, the company still meticulously produces some of its most prized designs to this day; Classics such as Bulb (1966), Zettel'Z (1997), Bibibibi (1982), Lampampe (1980), YaYaHo (1984), Lucellino (1992) to name a few, still grace the catalog, all from the same humble Munich workshop since 1970.

From taking on large scale projects such as the illumination of subway stations and even a skyscraper, all the way down to a lamp made of a single eggshell, Ingo Maurer has proven to be a legacy lighting brand through and through.
